1. How to order

   The fall is the best time to plant tree and herbaceous peonies. We ship bare-root plants from September through December. Allow 6 to 8 weeks for delivery. We do, however, take orders all year round. If your order comes in too late for this year's planting, we will ship it to you in the next planting season.

   To place an order, you have the following choices:

• Our plants

  We offer the finest and healthiest plants in the industry. All our tree peonies are three years old or older, with multiple branching stems and very strong roots. All our tree peonies are propagated by root divisions (a costly but advantageous propagation technique), and are not grown on grafted stock. These plants have a much lower mortality rate, will develop a shapely form, and flower prolifically. Our herbaceous peonies have 2 to 4 eyes. All plants are guaranteed to grow and be true to name.

  Some of the varieties in our catalog have a very limited supply (less than 50). Therefore we suggest that you place your order early to avoid disappointment.

• Payment

  Please send payment with your order. All payment must be in U.S. currency. We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Californian customers please add applicable sales tax. Shipping and handling charges must be added before sales tax is applied.

• Substitutes

  Some varieties may be sold out early. In that case, we would like to offer you a comparable substitute. Please indicate on the order form if you do not wish to receive a substitute.

• Shipping charges

  We use Federal Express 2 or 3 day express services to ship our plants. Federal Express requires a street address, and will not deliver to a post office box number. If Federal Express services are not available in your area, we will use UPS or the US Postal Services. The shipping charge for the first plant is $11.00. Add $2.50 for each additional plant. Alaska or Hawaii customers please add $10.00 surcharge

• Orders outside of the Continental United States

  We would like to meet the needs of gardeners world-wide. However, various regulations pertain to exporting plants, resulting in additional costs being incurred. If you are interested, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you.

• Wholesale

  We sell wholesale to nurseries, garden centers, and landscape contractors. Wholesale prices are only available to qualified companies. Please contact us for our wholesale price list.

• Guarantee:

  If you are not satisfied with a plant when you receive it, please return it within 10 days for a refund or replacement.

  Our plants are guaranteed to be true to name and to grow the first year. If a peony fails to grow the first year, we will replace it the next planting season. To receive a credit, please return the plant by June the following year. This guarantee is only for retail shipments in the United States.

Gift certificate:

A peony is a heartwarming and special gift, which will provide much enjoyment each year as the plant grows. Gift Certificates are available at The Garden Window for any amount. We will send the recipient a customized card to notify them.For security reasons, gift certificates and donations are processed separate to your order.
